Kanji Dream is a better way to study kanji.

Just knowing the meaning of a particular kanji is not enough - you need to learn the readings for the kanji as well. Furthermore you need accurate feedback on how well you know each kanji's many meanings and readings. You shouldn't have to wonder "Do I know that reading?" or "Do I know that meaning?"

Kanji Dream provides you with an entertaining and informative way to improve your kanji Reading ability. Kanji Dream quizzes you on all of the readings and meanings of the kanji you learn. You are get to spell out each reading and meaning for the kanji, instead of just being shown a bunch of readings for a kanji and being asked "Do you know these?" or "Did you get this one right?" Kanji Dream lets you know when you get a reading right or wrong, and helps you buy getting the kanji readings you know out of your way so you can focus on the ones that are giving you extra trouble.

Check out these cool features for Version 1.1:

1. All 2000+ kanji needed for JLPT Levels 1,2,3 and 4.
2. 7000+ on'yomi and kun'yomi readings as well as 7000+ meanings.
3. Mail your current game stats to the email address of your choice (Requires configured email account on your iPod Touch or iPhone.)
4. Hiragana and katakana reviews as well. Great for beginners.
5. Four different save files, because it's the 21st century.
6. Change the skill level at which you study what you study at any time.
7. Track your progress for each character, reading and meaning.
8. Track your consecutive correct answer streaks and averages for each each reading, each glyph, each study session and overall.
9. Demonstrate your knowledge by spelling out each reading when it's presented. No more having to wonder "Do I actually know that reading?"
10. Adaptive difficulty lets you review the kanji you have trouble with more often than those you don't.
11. Tune how many different kanji are introduced to you at a time.
12. Adjustable Volume for Sound effects.
13. No cheesy background music to get in the way of your normal music listening habits.
14. Designed to be played in those brief moments when waiting for a bus, in-between classes, before going to sleep or just waking up.
15. Cute art, because if you have to stare at one more flashcard...

Welcome to Kanji Dream...

Kanji Dream is an upcoming utility game geared at teaching you the meanings and readings of Kanji you need to know most!  Coming soon to the iPhone and iPod Touch, Kanji Dream will go beyond just teaching you the meanings of the kanji presented in the Japanese Language Profeciency Test, it will teach you their readings as well.

Each Kanji can have multiple readings, multiple ways to pronounce the same character depending on the context in which its used.  Most flash card and quiz programs display these readings as a side note - These readings (along with the meanings) are the focus of Kanji Dream.

Kanji Dream will:
  • Quiz your knowledge of Kanji in all four levels of the JLPT as well as Hiragana and Katakana if you're making your start there.
  • Allow you to demonstrate your knowledge by tracking your progress against each character and each reading both kun'yomi and on'yomi.
  • Give you help with the characters, readings, and meanings that you need help with most, and not bog you down with the ones you already know.
  • Become a valuable tool to aid you in learning the kanji and then later retaining that knowledge.
